Spicy PB Caramel

If you’ve ever enjoyed a little spicy nut mix on a bartop, you know that spice and peanuts were born to be together. Peanut butter is truly an extraordinarily ingredient: it pairs as well with savory flavors as it does with jelly, and is as much at home with spice as it is with salt. To bring our spice profile into focus and create a perfect balance and breadth of heat, we combine chile de arbol and aleppo chile. The first brings a little fire, while aleppo’s softer and fruitier heat rounds things out and adds some flavor dimension. This combination creates a perfect heat center on the palate, and lingers ever so slightly, to remind you with satisfaction about the great flavors you just experienced! Our salted caramel swirl adds some sweetness and lift, so the richness of the peanut butter stays perfectly balanced. Taken all together, these three flavor angles create a sumptuous and satisfying ice cream, from first bite to last.

It’s hard to imagine a more perfect segue into Spicy PB Caramel than barbeque. Every single note hits! Barbeque is savory, sweet, spicy, salty, and smoky, and this ice cream carries that through to the last note. This flavor also has a very integrated heat. It doesn’t feel sprinkled on top, or like a side note. That makes this flavor a favorite of ours, too, after a meal with integrated, slow-burn heat, like a pot of hearty chili.
